This diminutive mythical creature first cropped up in renaissance stories written by a Swiss physician and alchemist in the sixteenth century. They are thought to be reticent to interact with mankind and potentially guard over rare treasures! Our sterling silver gnome looks like he would be very at home barely visible among the foliage of the forest.
